Learning Chinese Language, a Key to My Success by 2020
Q. What factors (i.e. skills, abilities, experiences, knowledge, etc…) do you think will be vital to your success by 2020?
It is not an exaggeration that China has become the hugest global market in current. It became so obvious that without knowing how to speak Chinese in near future, one may not be very successful especially in my field, hospitality industry. Therefore, to set myself in a successful situation by 2020, which is not very far from now, I think learning Chinese language is the most vital factor compared to any other alternative criterion. To achieve my goal of becoming a fluent Chinese speaker, I am currently not only taking Chinese class as my college subject but also watching some documentaries related to China and hospitality industry. Luckily, Chinese language is very similar to Korean language: there are some phrases that are used in China, are also used in Korea. If I can successfully be an adequate Chinese speaker in the future, I could be a successful businessman who can speak 4 languages without any problems.

Midterm - Writing a Paragraph
Byeon Chu-Suk,
the Rescuer of Korean Tourism
Byeon Chu-suk, the former CEO of
Korean Tourism Organization (KTO), who just retired a week ago, had devoted a
lot to the significant growth in the number of tourists who visited Korea in
2014. He presented some impressive programs that were very effective for luring
the foreign tourists during his year in the office. Firstly, he put a lot of
effort on K-pop market development. Last year, Byeon projected a huge K-pop
show called The Dream Concert, which took place in Seoul in June, 2014. Unlike
other previous K-pop shows where usually most of the audiences were Koreans,
many K-pop fans from different countries visited Seoul to see The Dream Concert.
The show was very successful and Byeon was highly praised for his work.
Secondly, Byeon persistently persuaded the government to establish a zone for
duty free shops in Myeong-dong, a famous shopping area in Seoul. He strongly
believed that the establishment of the zone would definitely attract many
foreign tourists. After the government had finally approved the establishment,
a tremendous number of Chinese tourists started to visit Korea to shop in that
zone in Myeong-dong, as Byeon expected. Thanks to these Byeon Chu-suk’s
projects, Korea could achieve more than 10% of increase in the number of
tourists last year. Although Byeon has left us now, tourism in Korea will not
forget his unbelievable works forever.

Something Important to Me
Something that is very important to me is my Samsung ATIV 9 Book Plus laptop. This laptop is the first laptop that I bought by myself without any help of my parents. I worked in the bookstore for three months to buy this laptop. I use my laptop to read articles, do homework, and buy some items from Internet. It would be so terrible to think about my life without my laptop.
